MEET JOHANNA BLUMM

Johanna Blumm is a Belgian singer-songwriter and soundscaper whose work is rooted in more than fifteen years of exploring cross-cultural and sacred sound. Her path has been guided by a deep commitment to connection, belonging, and compassion. From 2008 to 2023, she led a nonprofit organization that held space for this mission. Through meditation circles, inclusive singing workshops, and community choirs, she brought people from varied cultures and life experiences together — sometimes in places where connection is most needed, such as prisons and safe houses.

In 2020, she released her debut album Munay Mani on Bandcamp. The album features Sanskrit mantras and invites listeners into the grounding and transformative practice of Japa, the repetition of a mantra 108 times. These ancient vibrational codes speak directly to body, mind, and soul. Through warm instrumental arrangements and intentional soundscapes, Johanna supports this resonance, offering listeners a musical environment that holds and strengthens the energy of the chants. Mantra practice continues to grow worldwide within yoga and meditation communities, and Johanna’s work forms a gentle bridge between tradition and contemporary expression.

”Through music and meditation, I create spaces where people can reconnect with themselves and with one another.

More recently, she has stepped into herself as a songwriter. Inspired by Ayla Nereo and the online community of The Living Song, Johanna has begun crafting songs that reflect her lived experiences in a world that is both beautiful and unpredictable. Her first releases mark the beginning of this unfolding path, each song a way of giving voice to what moves her.

This journey — the one called life — continues to shape her. Johanna extends her gratitude to everyone who listens, participates, and walks alongside her.
Thank you for being here.
